 Welcome Bearce/Bearse/Bierce/Bearss/Barss Cousins!. July 10, 2010 - many new names added to tree! To log on for read-only access to our tree, click "Log in" on the brown Welcome stripe above (or when you try to Search), then enter: browse browse If you want to add/edit this tree, please select "Register for New User Account". We'll try to enable you within 48-72 hours. (browse and guest users are read-only). TWO REQUESTS!!! PLEASE do NOT change information someone else has already entered! If a fact is wrong, contact me and I'll attempt to resolve. DO feel free to ADD names, dates, places, photos, notes etc that aren't already filled in. Secondly - PLEASE do not attempt to import gedcoms into this tree (feel free to export!) Email your gedcom files to me and I'll gladly do it. It can be tricky and if a mistake is made it can corrupt the whole tree (spoken from experience!) If you want to add individuals and families, please try one first, and make sure you've got the hang of it before adding a bunch. Contact me for help before you get in too deep! Also, try using "Find" before you "Create" an individual. Often the name is already in the tree. I periodically need to search for duplicates and merge them together. To see his descendants easily - from his individual page click on Descendants tab, change display method if desired, and increase the Generations to whatever you want. Any name is then a link to that individual's page. We have over 3000 names so far. (WARNING: When displaying ANCESTORS, choosing 10 or more generations will be VERY slow and hang your system for a bit!) Please edit/correct/add to our tree! Contact the webmaster if you need help. NOTE: Most of the data here is unsourced and unverified! It is provided to give direction for further research, and ultimately to be a centralized repository for Bearce/Bearse and associated family trees where users may continue to add data themselves. Obviously this is a public site, since a read-only login is provided above. Bear this in mind and use your best judgement in how you privatize information you enter for living individuals, and in gedcoms you send for uploading.  We have started a Bearce/Hyanno DNA Project to determine if Augustine was in fact Romany, and if Mary Hyanno was really his wife. We already have several Y-DNA participants, and have made progress on our mtDNA quest. We're so excited about this project that some of us are chipping in and will help pay for DNA tests for the right candidates (e.g. mtDNA descendant from any of Ausin's daughters, or the next male with surname Bearse/Bearce and a good paper trail).
